Underground Drilling Specialist


Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Underground Drilling Specialist to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient drilling of longholes.


Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, mining, and statutory codes and regulations
• Accurately drill series of longholes to design pattern using mechanised drill
• Read and accurately follow mine instruction plans with skill and precision
• Communicate with surveyors, geologists, and engineers to optimise drill patterns and metres
• Set up and troubleshoot on longhole drill rigs
• Access face conditions at start of job and scale from height according to site requirements


Requirements:

• A demonstrated passion for safety and proactive attitude towards ensuring that safety is front of mind for all employees at all times
• Experience in training a national workforce
• Minimum of 5 years experience in underground mining industry
• Minimum of 5 years experience solely as an underground longhole driller
• Knowledge of underground mining practices and efficient operation of underground longhole machine
• Highly organised and able to work efficiently with limited supervision

A full pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing and site specific clearances is required. National Police Clearance and any necessary tickets or qualifications must be presented at time of interview. Please note that an array of vaccinations are required when working in Canada.
