Role Overview

The Health Portfolio Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Efficiency Improvement and Support Team by providing expertise, advice, and guidance on financial and efficiency improvement strategies. The position will be instrumental in managing relationships with local health districts, pillars, and shared services to ensure NSW Health's efficiency improvement program expectations are met.

About the Role

As a Portfolio Manager, you will work autonomously, overseeing a portfolio of health entities to ensure alignment with NSW Health requirements around efficiency improvement programs. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting quality assurance reviews, analysis, and reporting of Efficiency Improvement Plans.
  • Developing and managing strong relationships with all health entities and ensuring ongoing accountability and commitment to the Efficiency Improvement Program.
  • Identifying and promoting efficiency improvement program learnings and ideas across NSW Health.
  • Providing benchmarking services, performance analysis, and service review support, as required.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience managing a portfolio of stakeholders with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate proficiently on challenging issues.
  • Strong judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deal with complex and sensitive matters.
  • Experience in continual process improvements and a demonstrated record in effecting change and improvements to reporting and business systems and processes.
