Job Title: Portfolio Asset Strategist

Public Sector People are working with a local council to recruit a portfolio asset strategist for a six-month temporary contract assignment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the council's portfolio of infrastructure assets in accordance with the council's asset management strategy.

  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for sustainable asset management practices, revising the council's asset management strategy and plans based on agreed levels of service that meet community needs.
  • Evaluate the asset register structure and hierarchy to ensure it supports evidence-based asset management decisions.
  • Conduct asset condition assessments to improve data confidence and currency within the asset register, utilizing internal and consultant resources.
  • Establish and maintain systems and processes to ensure accurate asset creation, disposal, and capitalization within the council's asset register, linked with the GIS system.
  • Provide ongoing updates to the council and manager of integrated transport on current sustainable transportation development and programs.

Requirements include:

  • Tertiary degree in civil engineering or other relevant qualifications.
  • Experience in leading small teams.
  • Experience with asset information management, asset management systems, and GIS mapping.
