About the Role

Feros Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Virtual Local Area Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between the community and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Participant Pathways: Actively guide participants through the NDIS process, gathering information for their plans, and assisting them in maximizing the utility of their funding.
  • Escalation Point: Serve as an escalation point for complaints, complex queries, and issues, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Team Coaching and Mentoring: Coach and mentor team members in the provision of planning and effective management of complaints and complex enquiries.
  • Case Management: Maintain oversight of specialist or complex cases to ensure equitable and positive outcomes for people living with a disability.
Requirements
  • Competency and Commitment: Demonstrated competency and commitment to helping people with complex needs reach their goals.
  • Coaching and Mentoring Experience: Experience in coaching and mentoring staff, with a focus on developing their skills and expertise.
  • Person-Centred Approaches: Experience implementing person-centred approaches and other contemporary disability and community services practices.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work collaboratively, analyse, problem solve, and contribute to consistent and innovative work practices.
  • Ethical and Inclusive Attitude: Ethical, inclusive, and non-judgmental attitude towards others.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Highly developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • NDIS Knowledge: Strong understanding of the key principles, philosophy, and opportunities of the NDIS for participants.
  • Adaptability and Leadership: Ability to adapt and support others in a changing environment, prioritise competing demands, and manage workflows to meet deadlines and achieve targets.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in disability, allied health, community services, or a minimum of 2 years' experience working with people living with disability or lived experience with disability or caring for someone with disability.
