The role of Demi Chef is a key position within the Pastry Department, requiring close collaboration with the Head of Pastry to prepare, cook and present high-quality pastries, desserts and baked goods.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated pastry professional to contribute to delivering exceptional standards in taste, texture and presentation while maintaining a clean, safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head of Pastry and Pastry Chef with daily operational duties within the pastry kitchen.
  • Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts and confectionery items following recipes and quality standards.
  • Operate commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers and other specialized pastry tools safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain strict hygiene and cleanliness standards, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Support stock management by monitoring ingredient levels and advising the Head of Pastry of requirements in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to menu development and innovation alongside the pastry team.
  • Collaborate with the broader kitchen and food and beverage team to ensure seamless service delivery
Qualifications:
  • Trades qualification
  • Previous experience working in a pastry kitchen is highly desirable
  • A strong passion for pastry arts and attention to detail in quality and presentation
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment used in pastry production
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure within a team environment
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
