About Acumen Health

As a Rehabilitation Consultant, you will work closely with Defence personnel to support their rehabilitation journey. Our unique approach involves taking a holistic care approach and working within a multidisciplinary team to support the transition from rehabilitation to healing.

The role requires utilising clinical reasoning skills and expertise to support individuals who have suffered from a diverse range of injuries, illnesses or trauma. You will work with motivated clients to develop, implement, and monitor their rehabilitation plans, with onsite access to medical and treatment providers for additional direct support.

You will be supporting ADF members in Melbourne, Australia. The hybrid role offers flexibility, allowing you to achieve a balance between work and personal life. Defence members typically work from 07:30 to 15:30, enabling you to enjoy early starts and finishes or tailor your schedule to suit both client needs and your best work-life balance.

We offer part-time (3 or 4 days) or full-time options. As a high-quality service provider, you will be supported and mentored through an extensive onboarding process, including ongoing shadowing, to build your technical knowledge and expertise.

Key Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted registration or membership with relevant industry bodies
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, or Osteopathy
  • Strong clinical reasoning
  • Ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams to support common goals
  • Passion for helping people rehabilitate
  • OCCUPATIONAL REHABILITATION EXPERIENCE IS DESIRABLE
