Job Title: Equality Adviser

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Equality Adviser to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of equality issues.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the provision of advice on equality issues and ensuring compliance with legislation. They will work closely with senior management, managers, and staff at all levels to promote equality and diversity within the organization.

This includes:

  • Ensuring Equality Impact Assessments are completed appropriately
  • Developing and managing the annual Equality Plan
  • Disseminating equality monitoring data and taking actions to eliminate unlawful discrimination
  • Creating an Equality Action Plan and addressing areas of non-compliance
  • Conducting equality-related audits and reporting findings to the Senior Management Team
  • Developing links between the organization and local groups to improve knowledge and understanding of different equality strands

In addition to these responsibilities, the job holder will also be responsible for acting as a subject matter lead advisor, providing advice and recommendations to senior management, managers, and individuals. They will manage staff within their area, including performance, development, and annual appraisal, as well as keep up-to-date with changes in law and legislation in their field.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Able to deal effectively and assertively with staff at all levels
  • Able user of MS Word and MS Excel
  • Information collation and analysis
Working Arrangements

We offer hybrid working arrangements that blend working from home, different sites, or from office locations. This role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
