Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced liability claims professional to manage a portfolio of complex and sensitive claims on a permanent full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of highly confidential and historical liability claims, ensuring quality customer service is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficient management of the claims process, resulting in accurate completion and validation of claims
  • Interpreting policy coverage and determining if coverage applies to claims submitted, escalating issues as needed
  • Establishing and maintaining good client relationships with insured parties, brokers, investigators, solicitors and the general public
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards
  • Initiation and completion of any recoveries from third parties
  • Self-audit of claims files to ensure positive internal audits
  • Response to enquiries in an accurate, timely, professional and courteous manner within privacy guidelines

Requirements:

  • Strong technical claims experience and expertise in managing complex latent and special risk claims
  • Strong technical claims expertise in specialty classes of insurance, including managing complex bodily injury claims with sound decision-making based on technical, investigative, and medical reports
  • Proven understanding of underwriting procedures and policy wordings across a diversified liability portfolio
  • Skilled in engaging and collaborating with external providers such as loss adjusters, lawyers and consultants
  • Expert knowledge and practical application of the general insurance code of practice
  • Effective relationship-building with clients and customers, maintaining confidentiality and resilience
  • Capable of participating in alternative dispute resolution processes
