Role Overview:
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a Disability Support Worker who possesses experience and training in utilizing aids to assist clients, along with a solid understanding of manual handling practices. The role presents daily challenges and the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
As a Disability Support Worker within our Accommodation Services, you will deliver vital support to our high-needs clients, assisting with personal care and daily activities. You will work with clients who utilize wheelchairs and have additional medical requirements, ensuring they receive the essential care they need.
Our team encourages autonomy and provides support to residents around the clock, promoting independence within a communal living environment. Your responsibilities will include managing complex situations with empathy and professionalism, making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Candidate Profile:
- Confident in effectively engaging with clients, fostering positive relationships, and addressing their unique needs.
- Resilient and self-assured, capable of working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in task prioritization and demonstrating problem-solving skills.
- Flexible with availability for shift work, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Possessor of a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
- 3 COVID Vaccination Doses: Fully vaccinated with three doses.
- Experience with high-needs disability clients.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable).
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable).
