Position Overview:

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a Disability Support Worker who possesses experience and training in utilizing aids to assist clients, along with a solid understanding of manual handling techniques. The position involves daily challenges and the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.

As a Disability Support Worker within our Accommodation Services, you will provide vital support to our high-needs clients, assisting with personal care and daily activities. You will work with clients who utilize wheelchairs and have additional medical requirements, ensuring they receive the appropriate care.

Our team encourages autonomy and supports residents around the clock, promoting independence within a shared living environment. Your responsibilities will include managing complex situations with empathy and professionalism, making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Candidate Profile:

  • Effective Communicator: Capable of engaging with clients positively, fostering strong relationships, and addressing their unique needs.
  • Resilient: Confident and able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Organized: Skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving capabilities.
  • Flexible: Available for shift work, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Outlook.
  • Compliance: Holder of a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • Background Check: Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
  • Health Requirements: Fully vaccinated with 3 COVID doses.
  • Experience: Background in supporting high-needs disability clients.
  • Qualifications: Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable).
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable).
