About the Role

This Administration Officer - Payroll and Timekeeping position provides essential timekeeping and administrative support to Claisebrook, Mandurah, and Nowergup Depots, ensuring compliance with employment conditions for Railcar Drivers. The position coordinates payroll data files for these depots and supports the Network Control Manager with payroll tasks. It also handles payroll discrepancies, maintains a solid understanding of relevant awards and agreements, and advises staff and management on timekeeping matters.

The role involves maintaining the integrity of the Rostering and Payroll System (RAPS), testing system enhancements, and training staff on system updates. The officer is responsible for researching and analysing timekeeping trends, verifying leave applications, and identifying process improvements within the role's scope. The position works closely with payroll personnel, provides assistance with payroll inquiries, and ensures timely delivery of payroll files.

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Extensive experience in rostering and payroll systems, with a background in providing administrative services in a large, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of industrial awards, agreements, and HR policies, with proven ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll systems.
