Employment Consultant Role

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Employment Consultant to join our organization. As an Employment Consultant, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals find meaningful and sustainable employment.

About the Role:

You will be part of a team that gets a real buzz out of helping people develop and achieve their end goal of gaining further skills and sustainable employment. You will manage your own caseload of jobseekers, assisting them to overcome various personal barriers that have been preventing them from gaining employment, and working with local employers to find innovative ways to support your clients into work.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own caseload of jobseekers and assist them to overcome personal barriers to employment
  • Work with local employers to find innovative ways to support your clients into work
  • Use a database to log details, notes and create progress reports on each client
  • SOURCE JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUR CLIENTS WITHIN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY THROUGH BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES AND NETWORKING

Requirements:

  • Experience working within the employment services sector, ideally within Jobactive, Workforce Australia or Disability Employment Services
  • End-to-end case management experience and familiarity with the ESS database
  • Insight and understanding into the significant barriers facing people living with a disability and the long-term unemployed
  • EXCELLENT NETWORKING SKILLS AND WILLINGNESS TO CONDUCT BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS
  • Ability to mentor and coach jobseekers through the job search process
  • Demonstrated qualities of resilience, empathy, integrity and compassion
  • Good understanding of local labour market issues
  • Results and outcomes-focused approach and ability to work to KPIs and targets
  • Excellent time management and organisational ability
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a clear police check and working with children's check
  • Driving licence and willingness to travel locally
