Scheduler Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Scheduler to join our team at the Australian Reinforcing Company, a leading manufacturer and supplier of steel reinforcing. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating customer requirements, preparing schedules, and working closely with internal teams to ensure the success of projects.

Job Role Overview:

The role involves coordinating customer requirements with Sales, Planning, Production, and Operations teams to forecast supply to customers' construction projects. This includes identifying potential production or product solutions and negotiating changes with customers to reduce scheduling and production costs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate customer requirements with internal teams to forecast supply to customers' construction projects.
  • Identify potential production or product solutions and negotiate changes with customers to reduce scheduling and production costs.
  • Use numerical and analytical skills to estimate accurate quantities of reinforcement from plans or bills of quantities.
  • Accurately interpret engineering and architectural drawings to provide bar, mesh, and accessory take-offs for supply.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Goal-oriented and engaging team player with a customer-centric focus.
  • Experience in the construction industry, preferably with reinforcing steel experience.
  • Ability to coordinate scheduling of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent time management skills in keeping to customers' delivery programs.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Qualifications in construction, structural/civil engineering, or drafting are advantageous.
