Senior Cost Planner

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cost Planner to join our team at Willmot Construction Recruitment. As a Senior Cost Planner, you will be responsible for maintaining cost planning, estimating, and procurement excellence in accordance with Australian Industry Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain thorough knowledge of developing design and influence cost-effective outcomes by attending design meetings and providing appropriate cost advice.
- Manage a team of Cost Planners and Estimators to ensure their work is delivered accurately and in a timely manner.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze cost in the Cost Plan database.
- Develop, maintain, and update Cost Plan structures, templates, processes, and reporting.
- Effective, value-for-money procurement and appointment of suppliers and sub-contractors.
- In conjunction with the General Manager, develop the project Budget-to-Build to a suitable format for the project, ensuring it is mapped to the original tender budget.
- Undertake regular quantity verification analysis on the developing design to ensure current scope does not exceed contractual scope and associated budget allowances.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable Cost Planning experience in the built environment (minimum 10 years).
- Experience in QS and Estimating positions also deemed valuable.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Sound knowledge of cost planning, construction estimating, budget analysis, and cost control principles, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to effectively investigate and produce Cost Plans where limited information has been provided.
- Advanced experience in Risk Identification and Value Engineering, with knowledge and experience of Govt and residential projects.
- Experience across D&C projects with sound technical construction knowledge.
- Experience in the use of software packages, in particular CUBIT estimating software, Data Build cost management software, and Procore.
