About The Role

The Traineeship Mentor plays a crucial role in coordinating ATSICHS Brisbane's traineeship program. This position involves overseeing the onboarding process, coordinating training activities, and providing comprehensive support throughout the traineeship. The primary purpose of this role is to support and guide trainees to help them successfully complete their Certificate level qualification.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Lead the mentoring program for Indigenous Employment and Training Programs, ensuring effective coordination and delivery of outcomes.
  2. Monitor the progress of trainees through regular face-to-face and non-face-to-face contact, providing guidance and support to ensure safe and successful completion of traineeships.
  3. Discuss future workforce needs with current employers to identify potential employment opportunities for trainees.
  4. Collaborate with Managers to resolve any issues that may arise between the workplace and trainees, negotiating positive outcomes and providing assistance as needed.
  5. Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, job active networks, apprenticeship agencies, and RTOs, to support the recruitment, enrolment, and successful completion of traineeships.
  6. Foster connections and enable transparency and collaboration across teams, IUIH, and networks.

Requirements

  1. Certificate III or IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
  2. National Police clearance.
  3. Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or willingness to apply.
  4. Working with Disability Card (Yellow or NDIS Card) or willingness to apply.
  5. Driver's License.
  6. Immunisation history showing evidence of two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
  7. Evidence of working rights in Australia.
  8. Medicare provider number.
  9. Ability to travel between work sites on a regular basis.
