Training and Development Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities to meet the Building and Construction Training Policy and Best Practice Principles.
  • Monitor and report on training performance against agreed targets.
  • Maintain training requirements, plans, systems, policies, and procedures that comply with client and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure governance over the project's Learning Management System and site access system.
  • Identify and address training and skills development needs of the workforce.
  • Develop relationships with training providers to source training that meets project needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on continuous improvement programs that enhance safety and productivity outcomes.
  • Maximise funding arrangements through project training activities.
  • Provide insights to external parties on training challenges and workforce trends.
  • Supervise and mentor Training Coordinator and Administration roles.

Requirements:

  • Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
  • Tertiary qualification in Training & Development, Education, or a related discipline is highly regarded.
  • Minimum 4-5 years' experience in training administration, delivery, and/or development in a construction or heavy industry in a Vocational Education and Training role.
  • Experience in applying the Qld Government Training Policy in the building and construction industry.
  • Experience in developing and/or delivering innovative training solutions that address skills or curriculum gaps.
