Job Description

As a Water and Sewer Operator, you will be responsible for operating water and sewer systems in accordance with established operating procedures and the requirements of Council's Pollution Control Licences.

This role involves implementing maintenance and asset renewal systems for water supply reticulation and/or sewer collection and transport systems.

You will also be involved in construction of water and sewer infrastructure in accordance with detailed designs and industry standards.

Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the tasks of Water and Sewer Assistant Operators.

Ensuring all activities are carried out with safety, quality and environmental considerations is also a key aspect of this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in water and/or sewer operations, maintenance and/or construction.
  • Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to supervise small teams.
  • Proven Word processing/spreadsheet/database operating skills.
