The Water Group is currently seeking to appoint a Water Regulation Assistant to support stakeholders to be compliant with the water management regulatory system by providing education, undertaking environmental assessments, and issuing advice, licenses and approvals. The focus is to ensure effective, efficient, transparent and accountable water regulation.
**Key accountabilities**
- Provide specialist information and advice on licensing and approvals procedures, policy and legislation to staff, community and stakeholders to increase understanding for the appropriate access to water resources.
- Input, analyse and interpret water resource data and provide technical reports on water resource management to ensure timely achievement of agreed outcomes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of licensing and approvals in relation to water resource regulation in NSW.
- Undertake a broad range of administrative and office management tasks and projects in relation to water management in NSW.
- Contribute to administrative and business systems projects and initiatives to identify and progress improvements to processing, assessment and service delivery operations.
**About You**
With good written communication skills, you will have the demonstrated ability to prepare materials to a standard that may be presented to the courts and be defendable in judicial hearings.
You will be a team player with experience in working in geographically dispersed teams and in remote areas.
**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge and understanding of the aims and principles of sustainable natural resource management.
**Essential requirements**
- Occasional intra-state travel requiring periods of being away from home.
