Job Summary
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Enterprise Transformation Group (ETG) as an Assistant Director, Program Support. This is a critical role that will play a key part in the success of our Election Systems Modernisation Program (Indigo Program).
About the Role
The Assistant Director, Program Support will work closely with the Program Coordinator and the Program Support Director to lead and manage the Indigo Support Team. This team is responsible for providing exceptional administrative support services for the Indigo Program and the broader ETG.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the operational functions and resource allocation of the Indigo Support Team.
- Ensure all support activities are delivered to a high professional standard.
- Prepare and quality assure high-quality written correspondence, briefings, reporting, and communication material for a variety of different audiences on behalf of the Director and the Team.
- Lead business process improvement activities and implement innovative solutions.
- Analyze and synthesize information from a range of internal and external sources to provide timely strategic advice to the Director and the ETG Senior Executive.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in effectively managing high volumes of work and competing priorities, with the ability to manage an operational team as well as manage upwards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively synthesize information and communicate to people from different backgrounds and levels of seniority.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing complex and/or sensitive correspondence, briefings, papers, reports, and other written artifacts, with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strategic relationships and communicate decisions using professional judgment.
- High degree of initiative, integrity, and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and a strong commitment to working harmoniously within a team to achieve positive results and support the AEC's strategic direction.
- Demonstrated experience working in a large-scale ICT transformation program in the Federal Government context.
- AEC employees must be Australian citizens.
