We are seeking a skilled and experienced carpenter to join our dynamic team in Warriewood, NSW. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to showcase their expertise in metal roofing and cladding installations.

About the Role

As a carpenter with The Copper and Zinc Roofing Company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful installation and maintenance of our premium roofing systems. You will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials according to project specifications, as well as constructing and installing roof framing, underlayment, insulation, and moisture barriers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials to project specifications;
  • Constructing and installing roof framing, including trusses, rafters, and decking;
  • Installing underlayment, insulation, and moisture barriers to prepare roofing surfaces;
  • Fabricating and installing copper and zinc roofing panels, flashing, gutters, and downspouts;
  • Applying sealants, solder joints, and other weatherproofing techniques to ensure the integrity of the roofing system;
  • Collaborating with roofing team members to complete projects efficiently and to the highest standards;
  • FOLLOWING safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment;
  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on existing copper and zinc roofing systems as needed;
  • Communicating with project managers and clients to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $85,000 per year, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week. We offer a rewarding work environment, opportunities for professional growth, and a chance to work with a reputable company in the industry.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Construction White Card and Working at Heights qualifications preferred;
  • Relevant qualification preferred;
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in proven experience in carpentry, roofing, or a related field;
  • Familiarity with copper and zinc roofing materials and installation techniques preferred;
  • Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment, including saws, drills, and nail guns;
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and roofing plans;
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship;
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions;
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills;
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
