As a culturally responsive family support specialist with ATSICHS Brisbane, you will play a vital role in reducing the disproportionate representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the child protection system.
The successful candidate will provide independent support to families when child protection concerns are reported for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander child or young person with the goal of securing the safety of the children and the family's participation in decision making.
This includes effectively engaging Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families that come into contact with the Child Protection system, providing high-quality case management practices, empowering families through targeted interventions, and being a conduit and lead case worker role for all Child Safety matters.

- A starting annual salary of $93,800 (depending on qualifications and experience)

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention or Criminology with 4 years' relevant experience in family support, child protection, youth support or related field
- Demonstrated ability to meet client performance targets, apply a high level of practice judgement when working with clients involved with the Child Protection system, work with a culturally and socially diverse group of clients, record accurate and consistent case notes, and communicate effectively with and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Valid Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or eligibility to apply, current Driver's Licence, and valid Police Check
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Brief intervention counselling skills, previous experience in a family support and/or advocacy role

Salary Package
A competitive salary package including a starting annual salary of $93,800 (dependent on qualifications and experience), 11.5% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging, and additional benefits
