Job Description

This role involves effectively implementing an accountable, effective and culturally strong Family Led Decision Making service to reduce the disproportionate representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the child protection system.

  • Engage with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families interacting with the Child Protection system.
  • Provide high-quality case management practices and meet performance targets.
  • Empower families through targeted interventions to participate meaningfully in decisions affecting their lives.
  • Act as a conduit and 'lead case worker' for all Child Safety matters involving supported families.
  • Coordinate integration with the Family Support System and internal ATSICHS services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Effective engagement with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families.
  • Case management practices meeting performance targets.
  • Empowering families through targeted interventions.
  • Culturally responsive decision making support.
  • Integration with the Family Support System.
Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field with 4 years of relevant experience in family support, child protection or related areas.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally diverse group of clients.
  • Ability to record accurate and consistent case notes.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A willingness to travel across the ATSICHS Brisbane and Logan region.
  • A valid Working with Children's Card and current Driver's Licence.
Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $93,800, depending on qualifications and experience.
