Workshop Operations Manager

Our organization seeks a seasoned Workshop Supervisor to lead the Mining Equipment Division in Unanderra.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong trade experience and proven supervisory skills to step into a key role overseeing people, safety, and performance in a dynamic workshop environment.
The successful candidate will have a trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical, or Fabrication trade, along with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop environment.
They will also possess strong knowledge of underground or surface mining equipment, solid budgeting and cost management experience, and excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and motivate a team of skilled tradespeople
- Report on workshop performance, budgets, and cost control
- Drive a strong safety culture by overseeing SWMS, pre-starts, and toolbox talks
- Oversee fault diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance across a range of diesel-powered mining equipment
- Manage planned maintenance programs, refurbishments, and component replacement
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality expectations
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical, or Fabrication trade
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop environment
- Strong knowledge of underground or surface mining equipment
- Solid budgeting and cost management experience
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team-focused approach
