Key Responsibilities

  • Empower clients to push beyond their boundaries through adventure-based learning.
  • Support clients with daily tasks including personal care, hygiene and meal support.
  • Promote community inclusion by identifying and facilitating engagement opportunities based on client interests.
  • Encourage client participation in community activities with support ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4.
  • Foster physical health, communication skills, teamwork, self-confidence and overall wellbeing.

About You

  • We are looking for caring and empathetic individuals. Our ideal Day Services Practitioner will:
  • Be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills particularly with an understanding sensitivity and respect to participant's abilities strengths and circumstances.
  • Have a strong understanding of supporting clients with varying disabilities and active supports.
  • Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth.
  • Be an efficient organiser able to maintain and update programs file notes and documents as required.
  • Have experience working in day centre work and with behaviours of concern.

Requirements

  • To be eligible you must have or be willing to complete:
  • Certificate 3 in Disability or equivalent;
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification;
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain);
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain);
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
