Director of Trade Measurement Compliance

The role of Senior Trade Measurement Officer is a critical position within the government sector. As a key member of the department, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with trade measurement legislation.
This position requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of trade measurement, and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for supervising a team, planning and implementing compliance programs, and providing high-level technical advice to stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you must have a Certificate IV in Government (Trade Measurement) and a Certificate IV in Government (Investigations). Experience in leading a team and working in a regulatory environment is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work autonomously as part of a team. You will be required to undertake regular travel and may be exposed to varying workplace environmental hazards.
Key Responsibilities:- Leading and mentoring trade measurement staff;
- Establishing local inspection priorities to meet compliance targets;
- Planning, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs;
- Negotiating and liaising with stakeholders;
- Investigating breaches of trade measurement legislation;
- Educating stakeholders on trade measurement legislation;
- Developing and implementing proactive compliance strategies;
- Supervising professional development and mentoring staff;
- Coaching Assistant Trade Measurement Officers;
