Senior Trade Measurement Specialist

This role is accountable for delivering quality outcomes from trade measurement services functions.
- Leading and mentoring staff to achieve high performance;
- Establishing inspection priorities to meet compliance targets by coordinating and conducting inspections of traders, packing houses and licensees;
- Planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting on centre's compliance programs by assessing adherence to trade measurement legislation;
- Negotiating, liaising and providing technical advice to stakeholders including regional management, licensees, equipment owners/suppliers and local government as required;
- Investigating breaches of trade measurement legislation and preparing briefs for enforcement actions;
- Educating stakeholders on trade measurement practices;
- Assisting with the development and implementation of proactive strategies and initiatives in line with national plans;
- Supervising staff professional development and mentoring;
- Coaching and supporting officers in both field situations and remote learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead teams to achieve high-quality results and drive performance improvement;
- Compliance: Establish and maintain effective trade measurement systems to ensure compliance;
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and information exchange;
- Technical Expertise: Provide high-level technical advice on trade measurement matters and ensure accurate application of relevant laws and regulations;
- Investigation and Enforcement: Investigate breaches of trade measurement legislation and prepare briefs for enforcement action;
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to educate stakeholders on trade measurement practices and procedures;
- Project Management: Manage projects to implement proactive compliance strategies and initiatives;
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on centre's compliance programs and advise on improvements;
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
