Overview

The role of a Maternal Care Specialist is to provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to patients with a high level of professionalism and compassion.
  • Conduct regular check-ups, ultrasounds, and monitor the progress of pregnancies to ensure optimal health outcomes.
  • Assist with childbirth and support mothers during labor to minimize stress and promote a smooth delivery experience.
  • Offer postpartum care and guidance to new mothers and newborns, focusing on lactation and infant feeding support.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and efficient care delivery.
Requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in using electronic medical records.
  • Recent experience in providing midwifery care in antenatal, labour, birth, and postnatal settings.
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with industry best practices.
  • Current unrestricted NSW driver's license.
