**Role Overview**

Strengthening the safety of vulnerable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families through high-level case practice and case management is a critical aspect of this position.

The role involves identifying risks, conducting specialized psychosocial and risk assessments, and engaging with children and families at high risk of entering the child protection system.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for developing effective collaborative relationships with families, multi-disciplinary teams, and peers.

This position requires assessing and working with families experiencing vulnerability and low levels of safety using a case management approach.

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply as being Aboriginal or a Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement under sub-s 56(2) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA).

A National Police Check and Employment-related Screening Check are required. Some interstate and intrastate travel may be necessary. A current Australian issued driver's licence and Covid -19 vaccination status prior to engagement with DHS are also requirements.

Essential qualifications include an appropriate Social Work qualification from a recognized tertiary institution giving eligibility for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
