Aboriginal Family Services Specialist

This position is a key appointment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals to deliver culturally strong services reducing disproportionate representation in child protection systems.
The successful candidate will provide independent support to families with reported child protection concerns, securing the safety of children and family participation in decision making.
Key Responsibilities- Provide facilitation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait family-led decision making, promoting self-determination and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle.
- Enable active input from families in decisions, understanding Child Safety processes and identifying cultural and family connections.
- Support families through formal family-led decision-making processes, linking them with necessary support services to implement and sustain their plans.
