Job Title: Health and Safety Specialist

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Health and Safety Specialist. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the effective implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer consultancy and advisory services to internal stakeholders on matters concerning Health and Safety and Return to Work.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Support Managers and Supervisors in conducting accident investigations.
  • Maintain detailed records of meetings, incidents, and audits related to Health and Safety.
  • Provide support to all employees regarding Health and Safety matters.
  • Coordinate Health and Safety training programs and Committee meetings.
  • Record and report workplace incidents, hazards, accidents, and injuries.
  • Coordinate and process WorkCover claims and facilitate the return-to-work process for injured or ill employees.
  • Prepare Return to Work Plans and liaise with relevant authorities and employees.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
