OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in upholding safety standards in a high-risk environment and supporting our ongoing commitment to safety excellence.
Based in our Melbourne CBD office with regular travel to our Otway and BassGas plants, the Health & Safety Advisor will implement and oversee health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to minimise risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
You will provide support to the Production, Campaign and Project teams in the effective implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
This position is part time – 4 days per week.ResponsibilitiesImplementing and stewarding comprehensive health and safety plans and programsCollaborating with management to promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvementExecution of contractor engagement, capability assessment and assurance activitiesFacilitating risk assessments and implementing controlsLeading incident investigations and ensuring accurate reporting and documentationConducting hazardous materials and Dangerous Goods audits and inspections, hazardous chemical risk assessmentsAbout You / QualificationsMinimum of a Certificate IV in Occupational Health and SafetyDemonstrated experience in health and safety within the oil and gas sector or other high-risk industriesProven working knowledge of current WHS legislation, regulations, Australian Standards, and relevant codes of practiceExperience in contractor management, managing Dangerous Goods, and incident investigationStrong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilitiesCapacity to work effectively in demanding environments while managing multiple responsibilities concurrentlyAbout UsA proud Australian pioneer, Beach Energy is an ASX-listed oil and gas exploration and production company headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia.
