Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our Sydney Freight Operations team at Northline. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Forklift Operators, General Hands, and Receiving Officers in the safe, timely, and efficient loading of linehaul and unloading of PUD vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and provide guidance, training, and direction to a team of Forklift Operators, General Hands, and Receiving Officers for their day-to-day operations.
  • Operational Excellence: Through leadership and direction, meet or exceed set operational targets for transit times, load and unload times, Check, Weigh, Cube (CWC), scanning accuracy, damages, pallet non-conformances, and split consignments.
  • Compliance and Reporting: The completion of compliance reports and declarations, including Dangerous Goods, linehaul safety checklist, and load compliance, inbound report, and daily movement register.
  • Team Development: Ensure team members are assessed and deemed competent in all required VOCs.
  • Support and Assistance: Assist the AM or PM Operations Manager with depot maintenance and housekeeping, incident reporting, inductions, and training, and poor performance/behavior concerns.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role, ideally in the transport and logistics industry.
  • Excellent judgment skills and proven ability to make firm, fair, and consistent decisions.
  • Proven history of developing and maintaining key relationships, ideally in the transport and logistics industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve set KPIs and targets, including individual and team goals.
  • Very good communication and people supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with poor performance management and disciplinary actions in line with procedures.
  • Very good time management skills, coupled with resilience and adaptability.
  • Moderate levels of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
