Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead City Planner to join our team in NSW. As a key member of our urban development team, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals, mentoring, coaching, and providing technical guidance to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of urban planners, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the team's success.
  • Project Delivery: Deliver private sector approvals with diverse scales across various markets, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients to support master planning, precinct planning, or regional planning outcomes, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Infrastructure Planning: Utilize a strong appreciation of the role of infrastructure in land use planning, ensuring that projects are aligned with our company's vision and goals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet client needs.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports to exceptional technical and editorial standards, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
  • Risk Management: Manage commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring that our company's interests are protected.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain key client relationships, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and support.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in NSW undertaking statutory and strategic planning.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field, such as urban planning, geography, or a related discipline.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams, with a strong track record of success.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience navigating DA's, SSD's, or undertaking strategic planning at precinct or development scale is highly regarded.
