Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic and industry-leading Engineering team at our Head Office in Bunbury. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design of Mechanical plant and equipment in the Bulk Materials Handling sector.
Key Responsibilities- Design Project Leadership: Lead and manage Design projects, including preparation of design plans, task and job lists, and documentation to track project progress.
- Design Verification: Perform and verify designs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods, First Principles calculations, and/or current best practice Engineering methods.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure designs are compliant to relevant Australian Standards, statutory requirements, client specifications, and Safety in Design philosophy.
- Process Improvement: Enhance Engineering processes and procedures.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor team members towards peak performance.
- Qualifications: A degree qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 7+ years' of demonstratable experience in a Mechanical Engineering Design role.
- Design Project Management: Design Project Management experience.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation.
- Industry Experience: Relevant experience in the Mining and Resource industry.
- Design Skills: Good Mechanical Engineering Design skills.
- FEA Competence: Competence in performing FEA calculations and validation using ANSYS, Nastran, and/or Strand7 software packages.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated initiative in solving challenging problems.
- Time Management: The ability to meet deadlines and respond well to a changing work environment.
