Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:
RCR Mining Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic and industry-leading Engineering team. As a leader in the field, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions for our clients in the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage design projects, including preparation of design plans, task and job lists, and documentation to track project progress.
- Perform and verify designs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods, First Principles calculations, and/or current best practice Engineering methods.
- Ensure designs are compliant with relevant Australian Standards, statutory requirements, client specifications, and Safety in Design philosophy.
- Enhance Engineering processes and procedures.
- Lead and mentor team members towards peak performance.
Requirements:
- A degree qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years' of demonstrable experience in a Mechanical Engineering Design role.
- Design Project Management experience.
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation.
- Relevant experience in the Mining and Resource industry.
- Good Mechanical Engineering Design skills.
- Competence in performing FEA calculations and validation using ANSYS, Nastran, and/or Strand7 software packages.
- Demonstrated initiative in solving challenging problems.
- The ability to meet deadlines and respond well to a changing work environment.
