Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

RCR Mining Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at our Head Office in Bunbury. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design of Mechanical plant and equipment in the Bulk Materials Handling sector.
This leadership role offers opportunities for personal growth and development as you lead and mentor Engineering professionals and share your expertise within the wider business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing Design projects, including preparation of design plans, task and job lists, and documentation to track project progress
- Performing and verifying designs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods, First Principles calculations, and/or current best practice Engineering methods
- Ensuring designs are compliant with relevant Australian Standards, statutory requirements, client specifications, and Safety in Design philosophy
- Enhancing Engineering processes and procedures
- Leading and mentoring team members towards peak performance
To be considered for this position, you will need to have:
- A degree qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
- 7+ years' of demonstrable experience in a Mechanical Engineering Design role
- Design Project Management experience
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation
- Relevant experience in the Mining and Resource industry
- Good Mechanical Engineering Design skills
- Competence in performing FEA calculations and validation using ANSYS, Nastran, and/or Strand7 software packages
- Demonstrated initiative in solving challenging problems
- The ability to meet deadlines and respond well to a changing work environment
