KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:As a key liaison between the Australian Trade and Investment Commission's global network and other governmental departments/agencies, you will:
- Guide and mentor team members while providing innovative and strategic policy recommendations to achieve investment goals, along with timely insights and guidance to the Austrade network to support the delivery of outcomes aligned with Australian Government priorities.
- Establish and sustain networks to regularly engage with pertinent governmental departments/agencies to ensure that Austrade's stance is communicated in whole-of-government policy initiatives, influencing and supporting the government's investment objectives.
- Assist team members in coordinating and formulating Austrade's contributions to critical areas affecting Australia's economic stability, including foreign investment, skilled workforce, migration, critical minerals investment, advanced technologies, and cybersecurity.
- Produce high-quality, data-driven briefings, analyses, and policy recommendations for the Minister and Austrade Senior Executive to inform and shape governmental discussions and outcomes regarding investment matters.
- Represent Austrade in comprehensive governmental processes and support the Senior Executive in policy discussions that influence the investment landscape and Australia's global competitiveness.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Austrade, including the Trade & Investment Divisions and Visitor Economy Division, on issues impacting foreign investment and skilled migration policies.
