About the Role
The Early Intervention Specialist will educate employers about activities to facilitate and support a worker's recovery while their claim is being assessed. This includes providing guidance on suitable duties and planning for return to work, as well as supporting workers in understanding the return to work process.
This role aims to provide early intervention services from the moment a claim has been received. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising employer and worker of their obligations under the relevant legislation
- Supporting employers in identifying barriers to a worker's recovery and return to work
- Communicating with medical professionals to gain additional information relating to recovery and return to work
- Engaging different services based on specific circumstances of a claim
- Ongoing communication with employer, worker, and insurer during claim assessment period
As an Early Intervention Specialist, you must have:
- Knowledge of the claims process and relevant legislation
- Understanding of the link between early intervention and positive return to work outcomes
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
Desirable skills include:
- Experience in case management or rehabilitation
- Ability to influence employers to engage with injured workers
- Time management/organisational skills
