As part of our dynamic Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in promoting early injury management and treatment.

The Opportunity

In this challenging and rewarding role, you will be responsible for directing activity related to pre-claims and early intervention processes for workplace injury management. This involves actively managing medical certificates, ensuring early treatment, and facilitating clearance within the pre-claim window whenever possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directing Activity: Oversee the pre-claims and early intervention processes for workplace injury management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Wesfarmers Group Team Cover claims team to provide expert guidance on appropriate treatment, services, and return-to-work issues.
  • Store Engagement: Build strong relationships with Kmart stores by actively engaging with store management to enhance their understanding of return-to-work plans and workers' compensation obligations.
  • Support Injured Workers: Consult and provide feedback to case officers on appropriate treatment, rehabilitation, and other services, as well as return-to-work issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continually monitor and enhance the effectiveness of injury management strategies across our Workers Compensation portfolio.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A background in allied health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiologist) or a related field such as Rehabilitation Counselling.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in injury management.
  • Demonstrated experience in workplace-based rehabilitation, preferably in a self-insured environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic and results-oriented environment.
  • High-level organizational skills with expertise in effective work and process planning.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills to negotiate and drive outcomes.
  • Proven ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
