Remote Community Outreach Coordinator

The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising participation in the 2026 Census by connecting stakeholders and members of the community in regional and remote areas. This role requires experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, and living in or having connections to remote communities and regions in Australia.
This position is pivotal in enhancing community engagement and promoting census participation among hard-to-reach populations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing strategies to increase census awareness and participation rates in regional and remote areas.
- Building relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and other key partners to promote census objectives.
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- Experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Strong knowledge of regional and remote communities, including their social, cultural, and economic contexts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
