Early Childhood Intervention Specialist
Description:
The Early Childhood Intervention Specialist role is a dynamic and rewarding position that requires a passion for working with children aged 0-8 and their families. This specialist will be responsible for delivering interventions to support positive, life-changing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored therapy plans in diverse settings, including homes, schools, playgrounds, and community centres.
- Conduct initial appointments at families' homes, utilizing assessment and communication skills to get to know them, their child, and goals.
- Collaborate with preschool teachers to support children's motor skill development.
- Coach parents through finding schools that suit their young child's needs.
- Work closely with Speech Pathologists and family members to support children's communication and social skills.
- Build meaningful relationships with participants and their supports (family, carers, friends).
- Document and bill each session through our online participant management system.
- Provide support for children after school to establish consistent routines.
- Attend regular team meetings to share stories of impact, ideas, and learning opportunities.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification and registration (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologist, Educator, or Social Worker).
- Minimum 12 months experience working with children aged 0-8 and their families.
- Demonstrated experience working with children with disability.
- Positive and flexible approach to work.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Australian drivers license.
- NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Working with Childrens Check.
- Availability and commitment to support before/after school appointments.
