About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mental Health Service at the Margaret Tobin Centre within Flinders Medical Centre as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager.

As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow and coordination of beds within the SALHN Mental Health division.

You will work closely with clinical and management staff across inpatient, emergency departments, and community services to provide daily support and maintain established systems functioning over a 24-hour period.

The successful applicant will be rostered on each weekend, including public holidays, and will receive training to support their success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote continuity and consistency of service in collaboration with all relevant Clinical leads throughout the Division.
  • Deal appropriately with mental health consumers and their families, navigating multiple complexities, diverse cultural backgrounds, and consumer expectations.
  • Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration or other incidents, escalating appropriately.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in mental health nursing.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
