Job Title

A Tourism Development Manager role has become available in the Maranoa region.

The Maranoa region in southwest Queensland is approximately 500km west of Brisbane, covering 58,830km² and home to approximately 13,000 residents. The region blends a proud agricultural industry with continuous expansion in the energy and tourism sectors, offering a relaxed and affordable country lifestyle.

About the Role
  • Lead the development, delivery, and marketing of tourism initiatives that align with Council's long-term vision.
  • Identify, plan, and implement tourism projects and programs ensuring high quality delivery.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders including local businesses, community groups, and government agencies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven leadership experience in tourism, marketing, or regional development, with the ability to mentor and guide a team.
  • Strong knowledge of the tourism industry, including regional marketing, visitor experience, and product development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to resolve complex issues.
  • Tertiary qualifications in tourism, marketing, events, economic development, or a related field; substantial experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
