Senior Ecologist Role

Umwelt is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Ecologist to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct terrestrial flora and/or fauna surveys, including planning and coordinating field teams.
  • Manage medium and large-scale development and/or biodiversity projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and fellow team members.
  • Collect and interpret ecological and spatial data to inform project decisions.
  • Prepare and review reports, ensuring high-quality delivery to clients.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, botany, zoology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in ecology or a related field.
  • Accreditation or experience under the SA Native Vegetation Act 1991 is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and report writing.
