The role of Environmental Coordinator is a key position within our team. As a member of the delivery team, you will play a vital part in ensuring the successful completion of the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant project.

About the Project:

A construction project has been awarded to deliver the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant. With early works underway, we are seeking an Environmental Coordinator to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day compliance with environmental specifications, legislation, approvals, and other relevant environmental requirements. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the implementation of environmental management and sustainability measures as defined by the Project Environmental Management Plan, contractual and legislative requirements.
  • Participating in project planning and risk assessment activities to identify and control environmental risks and opportunities.
  • Assisting with identification and implementation of sustainability initiatives.
  • Supporting the planning, inspection, and monitoring of construction activities linked to environmental constraints/risks such as erosion & sediment control, vegetation clearing, night works, heritage protection, and contamination management, etc.
  • Conducting regular environmental and sustainability inspections and monitoring requirements as defined in the Project Environmental Management Plans (i.e., noise, vibration, water, and air quality, biodiversity, etc.).
  • Maintaining supplier and subcontractor performance against environment and sustainability requirements.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Tertiary qualified in Environmental Management, Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in inspection and monitoring of construction activities linked to environmental constraints/risk.
  • Experience in marine ecology would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of desktop applications, with particular expertise in Excel required.
