Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Concrete Plant Manager to join our team at our Concrete Plant in Alice Springs. As a Concrete Plant Manager, you will be responsible for leading a small, close-knit team and fostering a positive workplace culture of integrity, pride, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the concrete plant, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate plant maintenance and perform basic maintenance tasks to ensure that the plant is running at optimal levels.
  • Batch and dispatch concrete to meet customer requirements, ensuring that all products are of high quality and meet customer specifications.
  • Manage stocks of raw materials, including cement, aggregates, and admixtures, to ensure that the plant has sufficient inventory to meet customer demand.
  • Ensure that all safety, health, environmental, and Chain of Responsibility requirements are met, and that the plant is compliant with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide supervision to Concrete Agitator Drivers and Lorry Owner Drivers, ensuring that they are aware of their responsibilities and are performing their duties to the required standard.
  • Identify opportunities for improved operational efficiencies and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the plant is meeting customer needs and expectations.

Requirements

  • Experience in a supervisor position in the concrete industry, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete production processes and materials, including cement, aggregates, and admixtures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with a small team.
  • Experience with computerized batching systems and other plant management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly, with minimal supervision.
