Work Health and Safety Specialist

This role is responsible for leading work health and safety initiatives at War Memorial Hospital in Waverley. As a Work Health and Safety Specialist, you will be part of an executive team shaping and supporting a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on WHS strategies and compliance to leaders across the hospital.
  • Lead incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness and fire response systems to ensure business continuity.
  • Develop and deliver WHS training programs to build safety capability across the site.
  • Review and update safety policies and procedures to reflect changing legislation.
  • Support injury management and return-to-work planning to ensure optimal outcomes for staff and patients.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications in health or safety, such as Cert IV in WHS or above.
  • At least 3 years of experience in WHS or a related field.
  • Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office and digital platforms.
  • Excellent communication, investigation, and coaching skills.
  • A solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
