Job Title

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Aboriginal Recruitment Business Partner.


This role will provide strategic recruitment support to hiring managers across the department, with a focus on attracting and retaining top talent from the Victorian Aboriginal community.


The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, including job briefing, advertising, sourcing, shortlisting, interviewing, background checking and offer management.


In addition to their technical skills and experience, the ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community, culture and issues impacting on it, as well as the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of this community.


The role requires strong relationship building and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve complex or sensitive issues relating to policies, programs and service delivery.


The successful candidate will also have experience in recruitment business partnering to meet operational demands, with a proven track record of delivering consistent and quality recruitment services in an Aboriginal employment context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for Aboriginal priority positions, ensuring that target hires are achieved within the talent delivery team and campaigns portfolios.
  • Provide professional recruitment consulting services to hiring managers, candidates and staff, ensuring accurate and timely advice on the recruitment process, relevant policies, best practice recruitment methodologies and legislative requirements.
  • Contribute specialist advice and expertise to regional stakeholders at all levels and the Recruitment Services Unit, People and Culture on Aboriginal cultural issues, employment related policies and legislation that impact on the Victorian Aboriginal community to ensure that target hires and vacancy management across Corrections Victoria is delivered and maintained.
  • Engage proactively and maintain relationships across other areas of DJCS and external stakeholders to identify and resolve complex or sensitive issues relating to policies, programs and service delivery.
Requirements
  • A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community, both society and culture and the issues impacting on it.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
  • Experience managing the end-to-end recruitment process, with a diverse stakeholder group to meet operational demand and deliver consistent and quality recruitment service in Aboriginal employment context.
  • Experience in recruitment business partnering to meet operational demands.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) and misconduct screening.
