Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled governance professional to support our Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary. The successful candidate will provide legal advice on governance and corporate matters, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, and maintaining our Board governance framework.

This role requires expertise in corporate governance and compliance, strong analytical skills, and experience in financial services or highly regulated industries. You'll lead a team of company secretariat professionals, driving continuous improvement in governance and compliance practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and uplifting the Board governance framework, including reviewing policies, procedures, registers, and supporting documentation.
  • Monitoring the corporate governance landscape and advising on governance-related matters.
  • Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, providing company secretarial services, and governance support to the Board, committees, and executive management.
  • Drafting high-quality papers and reports, and assisting with Board governance workplan activity.
  • Promoting a sound risk culture and proactively managing risks, uplifting corporate governance practices, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

About You

To be considered, you'll need at least six years of experience in a similar legal or governance role, with tertiary qualifications in law, governance, or a related field. Your expertise will be essential in navigating complex regulatory frameworks and aligning governance practices with legal requirements.

You'll possess:

  • Proven expertise in corporate governance and compliance, with strong legal acumen.
  • Exceptional drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage high-level legal documentation and board materials.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, governance, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in financial services or highly regulated industries (desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, with a focus on continuous improvement in governance and compliance practices.

What We Offer

We provide a competitive salary, estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on your experience. You'll also enjoy a range of benefits, including a flexible work environment, opportunities for professional development, and a comprehensive remuneration package.
