Software Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

This is a key position that involves working with our Product Engineering team to design, develop and deploy software solutions that meet business requirements. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for writing clean, efficient code and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex problems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development principles, experience with serverless architectures and cloud-based technologies, and a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our unified platform and unique suite of products for Reviews, Referrals, Quizzes, Loyalty, and Surveys, which is trusted by thousands of Shopify brands to turn one-time shoppers into revenue-driving customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and deploy software solutions using API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, Lambda and DynamoDB
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex problems
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases to ensure scalability, reliability and performance
  • Participate in system design and architecture decisions to ensure alignment with business goals
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on backend engineering
  • Strong knowledge of software development principles, including object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with serverless architectures and cloud-based technologies, such as AWS
  • Proficiency in programming languages, including TypeScript and JavaScript
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
